(Dan Tri) - Not following the music market, singer Lam Ngoc still quietly asserts herself by performing intimate, soulful songs of pure Vietnamese folk music.
With a sweet, deep voice, good technique and bright stage presence, singer Lam Ngoc has conquered many demanding audiences with her "loyalty" to pure Vietnamese folk music.
The singer shared: "Since I was little, I have listened to folk songs on the radio and TV that my grandmother often played. I felt the lyrics and melodies were gentle but each word had a deep meaning. When I grew up, I felt that my personality and voice were quite suitable for this genre of music."

According to Lam Ngoc, at the age of 15, she fulfilled her dream by participating in the Youth Melody contest and won second prize in Hai Duong province. From here, she decided to pursue an artistic path with folk music.
Lam Ngoc began to ponder over the music records of famous folk singers such as Tan Nhan, Anh Tho... She listened and learned to sing along, nurturing her passion with the melodies of her homeland.
After much effort, Lam Ngoc was admitted to the Central University of Art Education, fulfilling her burning desire for folk music.
Later, after winning a number of awards and becoming known to many audiences, the female singer still maintained the pure Vietnamese character in her voice as well as her performance style.
"Art is very diverse today, so music genres have become more colorful and fresh. Folk music is the same, now there are many artists renewing music genres, remixing, combining folk and light music and then mixing with rap. I think these are new ideas to create musical works that suit the tastes.
But, I know my voice and still want to keep the old folk style, just change the music a little so it's not as heavy as before. I want to aim for a gentle, intimate folk style but still make the listener feel comfortable," Lam Ngoc said.

Facing the wave of commercial music and ideas of renewing old music, Lam Ngoc is still steadfast in her direction. She believes that art is very diverse, we cannot see others change and force ourselves to follow even when it is not suitable for us.
Recently, Lam Ngoc released the MV Ben Doi. In fact, Ben Doi by musician Minh Doan is not a new song, it has been performed by many singers. However, because she loves the melody, lyrics and meaning of the story told in Ben Doi, the female singer decided to perform the work again.
"In the MV, I created a happy ending, so that after the song ends, the audience will feel happy and filled with love," said the female singer.
Singer Lam Ngoc (born 1995), real name is Dao Thi Bich Ngoc.
She graduated from the Central University of Art Education and won second prize in the Hai Duong Province Youth Melody Contest in 2011, and reached the final round of Sao Mai 2017 in the folk music category.
