Provincial leaders visited and gave gifts on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival

* Comrade Nguyen Minh Tien, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, visited, presented gifts, and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with children in Hai Tien commune. Also attending were leaders of the Department of Health, Department of Education and Training, Provincial Party Committee Office, and Provincial Youth Union.

Hai Tien Commune has over 13,800 children, living in 10 Youth Unions and 62 Youth Union branches. The commune currently has 93 children in special circumstances (including 83 disabled children, 9 children with extremely severe disabilities) and 63 children at risk of falling into special circumstances due to living in poor or near-poor households.

In recent years, the work of caring for, educating and protecting children in the commune has received special attention. The young generation, the future owners of the country, live in a safe and healthy environment, have the opportunity to study and develop comprehensively, and become useful citizens for their families and society. In particular, on this occasion, the commune issued a plan to organize Mid-Autumn Festival activities at 5 secondary schools.

Speaking at the program, Comrade Nguyen Minh Tien, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, emphasized the humanitarian significance and strategic importance of child care and protection. He highly appreciated the efforts of Hai Tien commune in maintaining the rate of fully vaccinated children under 1 year old, the rate of children attending school safely and the effective implementation of the topic "Building a child-centered kindergarten".

He suggested that in the coming time, the Party Committee and local authorities continue to pay attention to and care for teenagers and children, especially those in difficult circumstances, orphans and disabled children, creating a healthy environment in terms of spirit, culture, sports , entertainment; protecting children from negative risks of society so that they can grow up in the love and protection of the community. He suggested that organizations, businesses and philanthropists continue to accompany local authorities in mobilizing social resources to care for teenagers and children, ensuring that no child is left behind.

Gia Phong commune currently has over 2,000 children under 16 years old. The work of propagating, disseminating, educating the law, knowledge, and skills on caring for and educating children has been disseminated promptly by all levels, sectors, agencies, and units with diverse content and methods, with many innovations, suitable for each group of children.

With the investment in infrastructure, children in Gia Phong commune have a truly spacious learning environment, many safe and healthy places to play. Phu Long Commune has about 3,400 children under 16 years old, accounting for more than 1/4 of the population. Of these, 56% are ethnic minority children, nearly 60 children are in special circumstances, and more than 200 children are at risk of falling into special circumstances.
