Deploying hundreds of BTS station information rescue teams
Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha), network operators have deployed plans to strengthen telecommunications infrastructure, prepare backup plans, respond to emergencies, and support customers.
For Viettel network, in addition to the forces in the provinces, Viettel has mobilized 100 BTS station and cable line information rescue teams; 150 fixed broadband subscriber incident handling teams; and 30 generator repair teams to support provinces affected by storms and circulation.
Information rescue materials (optical cables, transmission welding equipment, satellite phones, etc.) in the provinces all have a high reserve rate.
Mobile broadcasting vehicles have been deployed in Quang Ninh, Hung Yen and Ninh Binh, with 9 vehicles ready to be dispatched to affected areas.
All cable lines connecting the Northeast and Northwest regions have at least 3 backup connection directions, and cable lines connecting ward/commune clusters have 1-3 backup connection directions.
Most of these cable lines have been reinforced and can withstand the effects of natural disasters.
Ready for Roaming with other carriers
As early as July 19, VNPT Group sent a telegram to units in the area affected by storm No. 3 to organize and deploy storm response plans.
Accordingly, VNPT inspected and reviewed the telecommunications network infrastructure; prepared adequate supplies, fuel, and backup equipment, and was ready to respond to situations, minimizing damage to information and assets, and ensuring the safety of staff during the implementation process.
VNPT is ready with a Roaming plan (domestic data roaming, a feature that allows mobile phone users to use the services of another domestic network when in an area without signal or not covered by their current network) mobile service between networks, ready to operate and ensure VSAT-IP network communications in the specialized information network for PCTT; ready to deploy VSAT transmission lines for mobile broadcasting vehicles when requested.

Meanwhile, MobiFone network has inspected its system, network, infrastructure, and reviewed the overall network status in areas at risk of being affected by natural disasters, especially coastal provinces and mountainous areas prone to landslides.
Also check signal quality, traffic, important hotspots, standalone BTS stations, solar power stations and complex terrain areas.
Along with that is the assessment of the operating status of the internal network, data center (Data Center), network monitoring system (NOC), ensuring smooth access, operation and incident handling during natural disasters...
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the storm continues to strengthen (the strongest wind at sea can reach level 12, gusting to level 15). From July 21 and 22, coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa will be directly affected by the storm, causing strong winds and heavy rains in the Northern provinces and the North Central provinces (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh).
This is a very strong storm, moving fast, the range and intensity of its impact on sea and land is very wide and dangerous.
