Military schools enroll more than 4,300 university and college students in 2023

Colonel Nguyen Van Thai, Head of the Secretariat of the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense, said that in 2023, there will be 17 academies and schools recruiting for military university training. The number of students recruited for military university and college programs is more than 4,300. The schools recruit according to the general plan of the Ministry of Education and Training , considering the scores of the high school exam. There are 4 academies and schools recruiting female candidates: Military Technical Academy; Military Medical Academy; Military Science Academy; Logistics Academy.

Candidates applying for admission to military universities and colleges must pass a preliminary selection and meet the standards set by the Ministry of National Defense on political background; age; culture and health. In 2023, there will be some adjustments to health standards for young people with permanent residence of 3 years or more in region 1, ethnic minorities such as: Young men must be 1.6m or taller, weigh 48kg or more; women must be 1.52m or taller, weigh 46kg or more. Candidates from 16 ethnic groups are very few, male candidates must be 1m58 or taller.

Young people outside the Army are recruited at the Military Recruitment Board at the district, town, and provincial city levels. Active soldiers are recruited at the Military Recruitment Board at the regimental level and equivalent.

Candidates can only register one wish (the first wish, the highest wish) for a school in the Army right from the time of making the preliminary application (if the school has many training majors, candidates can only register for one major); the remaining wishes can be registered for schools outside the Army, the registration is carried out according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Adjusted admission wishes to another Military school in the same group of schools

Candidates applying to military academies and schools must register for admission and adjust their application according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates who have submitted their application to a military school, if they wish, can still adjust their application to another military school in the same group of schools.

Group 1 includes the following academies: Logistics, Navy, Border Guard, Air Defense-Air Force (Command and Staff system); officer schools: Army 1, Army 2, Politics, Special Forces, Artillery, Armored, Chemical, Information, Engineering. Group 2 includes the following academies: Military Engineering, Military Medicine, Military Science.

Military academies and schools only consider admission to military universities and colleges for candidates who have passed the preliminary selection and meet the standards prescribed by the Ministry of National Defense; participate in the 2023 High School Graduation Exam to obtain university and college admission results; and take exams and subjects that are suitable for the combination of subjects for admission to military schools that candidates register for.

Register for admission with the first choice (highest choice) to the school that submitted the preliminary application or the group of schools where candidates can adjust their admission choice (first choice) according to the school's admission combination.

Candidates who fail to pass their first choice (highest choice) to military academies and schools will be considered for admission to subsequent choices to schools outside the military in order of priority of the candidates' registered choices according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Implement a common benchmark for candidates who are soldiers and young people outside the Army

A common benchmark will be applied to candidates who are soldiers and young people outside the Army. The determination of separate benchmarks will be carried out for male and female candidates (if the school recruits female candidates) or for candidates whose permanent residence has been properly registered in the Northern region (from Quang Binh and above) and in the Southern region (from Quang Tri and below) or for each Military Region; candidates who are soldiers on active duty will have their admission scores determined based on their permanent residence.

For academies and schools that simultaneously consider admission for the following combination: Math, Physics, Chemistry (combination A00) and combination: Math, Physics, English (combination A01): Implement a common benchmark for combination A00 and combination A01.

Candidates who are eligible for the standard score based on their permanent residence in the South must meet the following conditions: Registered permanent residence from Quang Tri province and below; the time of permanent residence registration from Quang Tri province and below (as of September of the year of application) must be 3 consecutive years or more; must study in grade 12 and take the high school graduation exam in the Southern provinces.

Some specific regulations: For the Air Force Officer School, a common admission benchmark for military pilot training is implemented for candidates nationwide. The Military Medical Academy implements a common admission benchmark for the same male or female candidates according to each admission area for both admission groups B00 and A00 when recruiting for general practitioner training.

Military Science Academy, implements a common benchmark for the same group of male or female candidates nationwide applying for training in foreign languages and international relations; Implements a common benchmark between admission groups: Groups A00 and A01 for training in Technical Reconnaissance. Groups D01 and D02 for training in Russian Language; Groups D01 and D04 for training in Chinese Language.../.
