On August 2, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital ( Dak Lak province) held a ceremony to celebrate the birth of 500 IVF babies - in vitro fertilization at the hospital.

Performing the first IVF case in 2022, to date, Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital has welcomed the 500th "test tube" baby.

Since implementing the IVF program, the hospital has received more than 20,600 visits, examined and accompanied thousands of infertile couples in the Central Highlands.

After two ectopic pregnancies, Ms. Bui Thi Vinh Hanh (29 years old, living in Gia Lai province) was worried that she would not be able to have children, so she sought IVF treatment at Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.

"In the first embryo transfer, I was lucky to get pregnant successfully. My husband and I were overwhelmed with happiness when we became parents after 5 years of marriage," Ms. Hanh happily said.

Doctor Vo Minh Thanh, Director of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, said that with the desire to help infertile couples access treatment right in the Central Highlands, without having to travel to big cities for IVF, the hospital has implemented assisted reproductive methods with modern technology and equipment.

"The milestone of the 500th IVF baby is a remarkable result for our continuous efforts. This is the motivation for us to continue accompanying and making the dream of becoming parents come true for thousands of couples," said Dr. Thanh.

Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital also supports the cost of in vitro fertilization for families in difficult circumstances in the Central Highlands. To date, 19 infertile couples have received more than 2 billion VND from the hospital to "find a child".
