According to Mr. Phan Ngoc Dung, a resident of Binh Khuong village, the embankment has eroded more than 20 meters, including the curve towards the residential area of Solidarity Group No. 20 of the village, this is a key location.
“If the heavy rain continues, this curve will break and the overflowing water will directly threaten dozens of households in the residential area, along with many crop areas and the Binh Khuong Kindergarten right next to it,” said Mr. Khuong.
From noon on November 3, dozens of people from solidarity group number 20 were mobilized to urgently cut bamboo, drive stakes, and build earth bags to reinforce this important junction with a length of more than 20 meters.

Mr. Dung said that the N225 canal mainly serves to irrigate the fields of groups 20 and 22. In recent years, the local government and residents have reinforced both banks with soil to ensure safety for the residential area. However, prolonged rains and floods have eroded many locations, especially the upper bend, which is considered a "water catchment" during heavy rains.
“In the face of complicated developments of floods and storm No. 13 approaching the mainland, we are making efforts to reinforce the weak embankment to protect residential areas. However, to ensure long-term safety, we hope the State will pay attention and soon invest in building solid embankments on both sides of this canal,” said Mr. Dung.
