
According to Mr. Nghiem Van Binh, Head of the Examination Management and Quality Assurance Department of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the items candidates are allowed to bring into the examination room are: pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, set squares, graph rulers, drawing tools, and handheld calculators without text editing functions or memory cards. Similar to last year, candidates are no longer allowed to bring Geography Atlases, Periodic Tables, or solubility tables used in Chemistry.
Prohibited items include correction fluid; carbon paper; alcoholic beverages; weapons and flammable or explosive materials; documents and communication equipment (for transmitting and receiving information, recording audio, and recording video).
Regarding candidates who need to bring health monitoring devices, Mr. Nghiem Van Binh stated that the police force will check them, and if no abnormalities are detected, they will be given a guarantee sticker so that the students can bring them into the examination room.
However, Mr. Nghiem Van Binh also emphasized the need for flexibility and flexibility regarding other items, such as mechanical watches, jewelry, and transparent bags. While invigilators do not prohibit candidates from bringing these items into the examination room, they must emphasize that students should not use these items for cheating. Specifically for calculators, candidates are allowed to bring those without memory cards, recording/transmitting functions, or text editing capabilities; there are no specific regulations regarding brand or type.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training advises candidates to carefully check their belongings before entering the examination room and to absolutely not bring mobile phones, smartwatches, or electronic devices into the examination area to avoid violating regulations.
During the registration process, candidates must arrive on time; present their citizen identification card or passport along with their examination notification slip. If any errors are found regarding their name, date of birth, priority group, or priority area, candidates must immediately report it to the invigilator or staff member at the examination site for prompt correction. In case of loss of personal documents or examination notification slip, candidates must immediately report it to the head of the examination site for consideration and resolution. In the examination room, candidates must sit in the seat indicated by their registration number and present their documents when requested.
The entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools in Hanoi for the 2026-2027 school year took place on May 30th and 31st, with nearly 125,000 candidates registering to take the exam.
