Busy before the "big moment"
At the end of May, as the 2025-2026 school year concluded, the staff, teachers, and employees of Tran Nguyen Han High School (Tam Thang Ward) were busy cleaning the school premises, checking every light bulb, fan, and desk and chair in preparation for the 10th grade entrance exam. The camera system, monitors, computers, and unused rooms were also securely sealed.

In addition, medical supplies, fire extinguishers, etc., were meticulously prepared. The list of candidates, examination room layouts, and schedules were posted in accordance with regulations. Ms. Phan Thi My Hanh, the school's Vice Principal, shared: "The school has arranged a storage area for candidates' belongings in the multi-purpose gymnasium. Furthermore, water dispensers have been placed in the hallways for the candidates' convenience."
Along with educational institutions, local authorities are also urgently getting involved. As the area with four examination centers for the 10th grade entrance exam, Tam Thang ward has established a Steering Committee to support the exam and a comprehensive inspection team for all examination centers. Ms. Bui Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Thang ward, affirmed: "At this point, all examination centers have been thoroughly prepared and are ready for the 10th grade entrance exam."
According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, for the largest-ever 10th-grade entrance exam, the department has arranged 242 examination centers with 6,443 examination rooms. The arrangement of examination centers was carefully planned to provide maximum convenience for candidates, especially in areas far from the city center, border areas, and areas with specific characteristics. Some smaller examination centers in remote areas have been maintained to reduce travel pressure on candidates and ensure all necessary conditions for conducting the exam according to regulations are met.
In areas far from the city center, preparations for the exam are receiving even greater attention. In Hoa Hoi commune, starting from May 25th, the working group of the commune's People's Committee inspected and reviewed the exam preparations at two examination sites: Hoa Binh High School and Hoa Hoi High School. In addition to preparing facilities, the examination sites proactively requested the addition of emergency exit diagrams, enhanced food safety checks, and the deployment of on-duty personnel to promptly handle any unforeseen situations.
Smooth coordination
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, this year's 10th grade entrance exam is expected to mobilize approximately 17,742 officials and teachers to participate in invigilation and exam support, along with the coordination of various supporting forces. Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, noted that all situations arising outside the regulations must be reported to the department's leadership for guidance and handling; no one should attempt to resolve unusual cases independently. "Absolutely no complacency or negligence is allowed in any position, even for teachers with many years of experience," Mr. Phong emphasized.

In conjunction with the education sector, many relevant departments and agencies are also implementing coordinated plans to organize the exam. Mr. Nguyen Duy Long, Director of the 115 Emergency Center of Ho Chi Minh City, said that, following the direction of the Department of Health, hospitals and the 115 Emergency Center have prepared priority first aid plans for candidates and exam supervisors. For emergency situations requiring the deployment of ambulances, the unit will coordinate with the police force and volunteers to reach the scene as quickly as possible. In addition, the center will also provide medical support to the exam paper printing and grading areas.
Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety is intensifying inspections and monitoring of compliance with food safety regulations at food service establishments and collective kitchens around the 10th grade entrance exam areas. In addition, the police force is on duty 24/7 at the exam paper printing and grading areas, and is involved in the transportation and storage of exam papers and answer sheets. The electricity sector is also ensuring a continuous and stable power supply, with backup generators and on-call personnel ready during the working days of the exam paper printing, grading, and examination sites.
Over the three days of May 27th, 28th, and 29th, junior high schools in Ho Chi Minh City distributed exam registration forms for 9th-grade students registering for the 2026-2027 public high school entrance exam. The Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, Nguyen Van Hieu, noted that after receiving the exam form, students should carefully check the information and be aware of the arrival times at the exam site for exam regulations briefings and the assembly times at the beginning of each exam session. Candidates must bring necessary documents (including the exam form with a photo attached, a photocopy of their birth certificate (no notarization required), or their student ID card/citizen identification card for verification) and essential items to the exam room. Mobile phones (even switched off) and other unnecessary items are strictly prohibited.
As of the afternoon of May 28th, preparations for facilities and personnel to serve the entrance exam for public high schools have been completed. All examination centers meet electrical safety requirements and have contingency plans in place for unusual weather conditions. Each examination center has 2-3 reserve examination rooms (depending on the actual number of candidates) and a medical care area to provide support to candidates. This year, security forces have been reinforced at the examination centers to ensure strict security and safety requirements for the exam. The area for storing exam papers and answer sheets is monitored by cameras 24/7, and deputy heads of examination centers and police officers are assigned to coordinate inspection and supervision.
