How to make an ID card on the VNeID app for people under 14 years old

With just a few simple steps on the VNeID application, parents can register for an ID card for children under 14 years old without having to go directly to the police station.

To make an ID card on the VNeID application for people under 14 years old, parents need to download the application from application stores such as Appstore (for iPhone devices using iOS operating system) and CH Play (for devices using Android operating system).

The steps to register for an ID card for people under 14 years old are as follows:

Step 1 : Open the VNeID application on your phone and log in with the account of your parent or legal representative.

Step 2 : On the home page interface, select Administrative Procedures. In the list of displayed procedures, continue to select Issuing ID cards for people under 14 years old.

Step 3 : The system will ask you to enter a passcode (security code) to authenticate your identity, enter it correctly and continue to the next step. After authentication, click on Create new request.

Step 4 : An information entry interface will appear on the screen. At this point, please fill in your child's personal information such as full name, date of birth, place of residence, relationship with the registrant... Once completed, click the Check Information button to confirm again. Finally, continue to follow the instructions on the screen to complete the card request process.

After completing the steps to register for an ID Card for people under 14 years old on the VNeID application, parents will need to take their children to the police station to collect biometric information (photo, fingerprint, iris).

However, there are some notes when making an ID card for children under 14 years old, which are:

- If your child does not have a Personal Identification Number, you need to go to the police station to carry out this procedure first.

- Children under 6 years old do not need to collect fingerprints and ID photos, so they can register completely online.

- Children from 6 to under 14 years old need to go to the police station to collect biometrics.

- Making ID cards for children under 14 years old is upon request and free of charge.

In addition to the VNeID application, parents can register for an ID card for children under 14 years old through the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal and use their VNeID account to log in.
