Cambodian Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the move was necessary to prevent large-scale violent clashes. Meanwhile, Thai military spokesman Winthai Suvaree said the Cambodian army had agreed to fill in the trenches and move to Tri Muk Pavilion, about 200 meters from the disputed area.

In another development, the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested that the border dispute with Thailand be brought to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). In response, Thailand asserted that it does not need the intervention of a third country and does not accept the jurisdiction of the ICJ in this case.
