Commune police officers serve the people.

In the context of the recent administrative unit merger, the task of maintaining security and order has placed many new demands on the local police force. The image of dedicated commune police officers working tirelessly in the community, contributing to maintaining peace and security, has become a solid foundation for the people. Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du, Deputy Head of the Tan Tap Commune Police Station in Tay Ninh province, is one such police officer.

In 2005, after graduating from the People's Police High School II, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du was assigned to work at the Criminal Police Team of Tan Hung District Police, Long An Province (now Tay Ninh Province).

In 2008, he was transferred to the Criminal Police Team of Can Giuoc District Police, Long An Province. After 3 years of service there, he was transferred to the position of Head of My Loc Commune Police, Can Giuoc District.

In July 2025, he was assigned to the position of Deputy Head of the Tan Tap Commune Police Station, Tay Ninh Province.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du is raising awareness and encouraging people to be vigilant against various types of crime.

After the merger, the area under his management expanded, and the workload increased significantly. However, with the spirit of "Serving the People," Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du always remained dedicated, responsible, and constantly learning to better serve the people.

Studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh , he upheld discipline, complied with the regulations of the People's Public Security Force, and the Six Teachings of President Ho Chi Minh to the People's Public Security Force; he set an example in implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws; and actively advised and coordinated with local departments, agencies, and organizations to maintain security and order in the area.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du shared: "I consider studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style not only a responsibility but also a guiding principle in my daily work."

Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings, "Towards the people, one must be respectful and courteous; towards work, one must be dedicated and thorough," I always strive every day to uphold the qualities of a People's Public Security officer.

Learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example, with the motto "putting the people first," he closely monitors the grassroots, proactively advising the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune to implement many models for ensuring security and order in the area.

Following the merger, Tan Tap commune has a fairly large area, with many potential complexities due to changes in population and administrative management.

To avoid being caught off guard, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du and the commune's police force implemented a security camera system. Within just one month, the system, with nearly 150 cameras covering all hamlets, was directly connected to the phones of the duty officers and hamlet leaders. As a result, social vices in the area decreased by 25%, and many incidents were prevented from the outset.

For Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du, each case is a challenging battle of wits. "Remembering Uncle Ho's teaching, 'Our police are the people's police, serving the people,' I strive to overcome many difficulties and dedicate myself wholeheartedly to the peaceful lives of the people," Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du shared.

At his new workplace in Tan Tap commune, he also proposed the implementation of a system for creating dossiers to send individuals to compulsory drug rehabilitation, which was selected by the Drug Crime Prevention and Control Police Department of the Provincial Police as a model dossier for localities throughout the province to implement.

Not only is he highly skilled and sharp in investigating and solving cases, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du also learns from and follows President Ho Chi Minh's example through concrete and practical actions such as in receiving citizens and disseminating legal information in residential areas.

For him, effectively applying the Six Teachings of President Ho Chi Minh to the People's Police is the "connecting thread" between the people and the grassroots police force, helping the police force to successfully fulfill all assigned political tasks.

Tran Thanh Phong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Tap commune, said: "After the merger, the area is larger and the population is denser, posing a great challenge to the commune's police force. With his strong professional skills, dedication to his work, and close relationship with the people, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du will be a positive factor in maintaining peace and security in the area."

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style is not just a slogan, but begins with concrete, practical actions every day.

With that spirit, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du and his comrades are building a positive image of the People's Public Security officer in the new era: dedicated, creative, close to the people, and serving the people.

With over 19 years of service in the field, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tan Du has been honored with 6 commendations and 38 certificates of merit from the Ministry of Public Security and various levels and sectors; he has consistently achieved the title of "Outstanding Soldier at the grassroots level" for many years. He is a leading example of the Ministry of Public Security in the "All People Protect National Security" movement during the 2015-2020 period and was recognized by the Long An Provincial Party Committee (formerly) as an exemplary figure in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh during the 2018-2020 period.
