On May 16, VTC News reporter noted that from a bird's eye view, the HC1 underpass at An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) has basically completed the main items. The project is entering the final stage of completion, ready for operation on schedule.
HC1 underpass at An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) is the first completed item in the overall An Phu intersection project. The project plays an important role in connecting traffic directions, contributing to reducing congestion and improving operational capacity at the eastern gateway of the city.
According to observations, outside the HC1 underpass, the railing system has been completely installed, contributing to ensuring traffic safety.
Inside the underpass, the road surface has been paved with flat, smooth asphalt, meeting technical standards and ready for traffic.
Traffic signs are fully installed at both ends of the underpass, the lanes are clearly marked with reflective paint, ensuring good visibility both day and night.
The N2 bridge project turning right from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to Mai Chi Tho is gradually taking shape.
The intersection between HC1 underpass and Mai Chi Tho street is now basically open, creating favorable conditions for connection and traffic organization in the coming period.
Previously, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) said that although the main items such as the tunnel structure, lighting system and traffic signs have been basically completed, the HC1 underpass cannot be opened to traffic yet because the pumping station item has not been completed.
The cause comes from complex geological conditions and underground water sources, which have created unplanned technical requirements, causing the construction progress to be prolonged. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation from June 30.
The An Phu Intersection Project is invested in construction with a scale of 3 floors, including an underpass, ground level and overpass, with a total cost of more than 3,400 billion VND. This is a key traffic project to relieve congestion in the eastern gateway area of Ho Chi Minh City, directly connecting the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with main roads such as Mai Chi Tho, Luong Dinh Cua and Nguyen Thi Dinh.
The An Phu Interchange Project is considered the most modern intersection in Ho Chi Minh City. When completed, the project will not only help reduce traffic congestion at the eastern gateway of the city but also improve the efficiency of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, especially when Long Thanh Airport officially comes into operation.
