Within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists were able to worship the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc - one of the sacred treasures of Vietnamese Buddhism.

The heart relic is currently solemnly enshrined at Vietnam National Pagoda (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City).

This is a special occasion for the Buddhist community and people to commemorate the great sacrifice of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc - who burned himself in 1963 and left behind an incorruptible heart as a testament to the compassionate spirit of Buddhism.

The relic display space is solemnly arranged, creating quiet moments for worshippers.

This is one of the outstanding spiritual activities in the 2025 Vesak Festival.

From noon on May 6, thousands of people and Buddhists from all over the country flocked to Vietnam National Pagoda to line up and wait to worship the Heart Relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc.

The 2025 Vesak Festival officially opened on the morning of May 6 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (HCMC), with the presence ofPresident Luong Cuong and many domestic and international delegates.

This year's celebration has the theme: "Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Wisdom for World Peace and Sustainable Development", demonstrating the role of Buddhism in promoting peace, understanding and harmonious coexistence among cultures and religions.

The enshrinement of the heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc is not only a spiritual ceremony but also a profound reminder of the value of freedom of belief, sacrifice for the truth, as well as the spirit of peace and humanity that Vesak aims for.

The 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak takes place from May 2 to May 8, with a solemn opening ceremony held on the morning of May 6 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, in the presence of President Luong Cuong and more than 2,700 delegates from 85 countries and territories.

The event, hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in coordination with relevant authorities, is the first time Vesak has been held in Ho Chi Minh City and the fourth time Vietnam has taken on the role of host.
