Recorded on January 12, in the North, the price of live pigs fluctuated between 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg. Specifically, the price of live pigs in Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen ... was adjusted up to 53,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country.
In Lao Cai, Ha Nam , and Nam Dinh, the price of live pigs is also listed at 52,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands, the price of live pigs increased by about 1,000 VND/kg, fluctuating between 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg. Today, the price of live pigs in Binh Thuan is at 50,000 VND/kg. Thanh Hoa increased by 1,000 VND/kg to 51,0000 VND/kg; Quang Tri and Quang Ngai increased by 1,000 VND/kg to 50,0000 VND/kg.
In the Southern region, the price of live pigs remained stable and fluctuated between 49,000 - 51,000 VND/kg. The highest price in the region of 51,000 VND/kg was recorded in Long An, Vinh Long, Ca Mau; the lowest price in the region of 49,000 VND/kg was recorded in Hau Giang, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, Soc Trang. The remaining localities recorded the price of live pigs at 50,000 VND/kg.
Some livestock companies said that the market is getting busier as Tet approaches, with higher demand causing pork prices to rise. CP Vietnam Livestock Company has adjusted the price of live pigs to VND55,000/kg in the North and VND52,000/kg in the South.
