VTV.vn - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested that Can Tho focus on reviewing and reducing administrative procedures and compliance costs by 50% in the second quarter of this year.

On the morning of May 26th, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung worked with the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Party Committee on the socio -economic development situation, the implementation of double-digit growth targets, the disbursement of public investment capital, the operation of the two-tiered local government model, and the resolution of difficulties and obstacles faced by the locality.

According to the report, Can Tho's gross regional product growth in the first quarter reached over 7%; budget revenue exceeded 13,000 billion VND; and administrative procedure reform, digital transformation, and the operation of the two-tiered local government model achieved many positive initial results.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung acknowledged the achievements of the city in the past period, while also pointing out many bottlenecks and limitations that need to be addressed soon to create a breakthrough in growth in the coming time. Because the current growth rate of over 7% is still below the set target, Can Tho ranks 31st out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of growth.

Regarding future tasks, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung requested Can Tho to focus on reviewing and reducing administrative procedures by 50% and compliance costs by 50% in the second quarter; accelerating the progress of key infrastructure projects; removing bottlenecks in public investment; resolving outstanding projects; and promoting science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Can Tho needs to leverage its role as a driving force center of the Mekong Delta region; accelerate investment attraction, develop high-tech industries, logistics, trade and services, and modern agriculture; improve the quality of human resources, enhance the investment and business environment, and take good care of the people's lives.

Earlier, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung visited and laid flowers and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs at the Can Tho City Martyrs' Cemetery.
