Can Tho has a new Party Secretary.

On the afternoon of January 17th, at the Can Tho City Party Committee, Head of the Central Organization Department Le Minh Hung chaired a meeting to announce the Politburo 's decision on personnel matters.

Mr. Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organization Department (standing in the middle), presents flowers to congratulate Mr. Do Thanh Binh and Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided that Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, would cease participating in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, and would relinquish his position as Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. He would be transferred, assigned, and appointed to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The Politburo also decided that Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, would cease to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, and would relinquish his position as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Simultaneously, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu was transferred, assigned, and appointed to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.

Mr. Do Thanh Binh was born in 1967 in Thoi Binh district, Ca Mau province. His educational background includes a Master's degree in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Political Theory.

Prior to being appointed Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, he held various positions including: Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Thuan District, Secretary of the Vinh Thuan District Party Committee (Kien Giang Province), Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Head of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, Vice Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee, and Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee.
