This activity is part of the "500-Day Campaign to Intensify the Search, Collection, and Identification of the Remains of Fallen Soldiers" launched by the National Steering Committee 515.

Accordingly, from May 2026 to July 2027, the Steering Committee 515 of Can Tho City will collect 5,122 samples of remains of unidentified martyrs at 17 martyrs' cemeteries in the area; and simultaneously conduct surveys, searches, and repatriation of martyrs' remains in Phong Dien, Thoi Lai, Truong Long Tay, Nhu Gia communes and Phuoc Thoi ward.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, requested the inter-agency task force to direct, manage, monitor, and inspect the implementation of the task of collecting and handing over samples of martyrs' remains; and to propose and resolve any difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation of the task.
Departments, agencies, organizations, and localities should strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness and responsibility among all levels, sectors, and the people regarding the task of searching for, collecting, and identifying the remains of martyrs whose information is incomplete; teams responsible for collecting samples of martyrs' remains must strictly follow the procedures and regulations for sample collection, preservation, storage, and handover of martyrs' remains.
