The Long An International Port project cluster has a planned area of 1,935 hectares in Can Giuoc district, Long An province, including a 396-hectare industrial park, a 239-hectare industrial-service area, a 1,145-hectare urban area and a 147-hectare seaport. The total length from wharf No. 1 to wharf No. 7 is 1,670m. In the next development phase, Long An International Port will carry out procedures to expand the scale of 10 wharfs, including 1 wharf specializing in liquid/liquefied gas exploitation, 3 buoy berths for mooring ships, a center to welcome large cruise ships, welcoming domestic and international tourists. When completed, the port will have the longest continuous shoreline in Vietnam at 2,368m and can accommodate ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT.

Long An International Port is actively developing its container handling capacity. During this period, the port invested in 6 STS cranes and 18 RTG cranes, 100% manufactured and assembled in Japan by Mitsui E&S Machinery - a manufacturer with hundreds of years of experience in the heavy industry. Not stopping there, Long An International Port will continue to expand its investment, constantly upgrading its handling equipment, aiming for a handling capacity of 1,000,000 TEU.
During the construction and operation phase, the port will receive ships with a capacity of up to 70,000 DWT. Cargo throughput in 2021 and 2022 will reach 2 million and 2.2 million tons, respectively. On this occasion, the port officially launched container cargo handling services in addition to traditional goods: agricultural and aquatic products, fertilizers, iron and steel, machinery and equipment, and oversized and overweight goods.
