The Tan Cang Cai Mep - Thi Vai port recently welcomed the OOCL Bauhinia vessel of COSCO/OOCL shipping company, with a tonnage of 166,000 tons.
On March 13th, the OOCL Bauhinia vessel of COSCO/OOCL shipping company, operating on the PVCS service route, with a tonnage of 166,000 tons, docked at Tan Cang - Cai Mep Thi Vai Port (TCTT) for the first time.
Leaders of TCTT Port and the shipping company performed the welcoming ceremony for the OOCL Bauhinia vessel.
This milestone marks the highest capacity ever achieved by the Saigon Newport Corporation's deep-water port system in particular, and the entire system in general.
Lieutenant Colonel Vu Hong Hung, Director of TCTT Port, said that receiving the OOCL Bauhinia vessel is clear evidence of the port's superior operational capacity, opening up opportunities for extensive cooperation with major shipping lines.
The arrival of the 166,000-ton (total deadweight) vessel marks the ability to meet the increasing demands for vessel size and cargo transportation needs, helping Vietnam connect with global markets, from Asia to five continents.
Mr. Van Ha, Director of Operations for OOCL shipping company in Vietnam, believes that with modern equipment, the Cai Mep terminal has the capacity to receive large vessels, especially connecting Cai Mep with the East Coast of the United States.
At the event, leaders of TCTT Port and representatives of COSCO/OOCL shipping company performed the welcoming ceremony for the OOCL Bauhinia, marking the beginning of a journey full of expectations.
