Specifically, some individuals are calling taxpayers directly, posing as city tax officials, inviting them to the tax office for meetings, providing guidance on implementing electronic identification for agencies and organizations in the area, applying the 2025 value-added tax reduction and refund policy via phone; inviting them to training sessions, selling documents and ledgers; and requesting taxpayers to provide information such as: access accounts for the eTax Mobile tax payment application, tax identification numbers, etc. The purpose of these individuals is to steal taxpayers' online and bank accounts and seize their assets and money.

The Hue City Tax Department affirms that the aforementioned incidents involve impersonation and misuse of the name of the tax authority and tax officials to defraud taxpayers for illicit gain.

Currently, the Hue City Tax Department has publicly posted a list of officials responsible for monitoring and supporting businesses, household businesses, and individual business owners; the department responsible for receiving, resolving, processing, and returning results of administrative procedures; and the department responsible for receiving information on violations of tax laws from functional departments and local tax offices under the Hue City Tax Department on the Hue City Tax Department's website at thuathienhue.gdt.gov.vn. Taxpayers are requested to access, understand, and grasp the information, contact, exchange information, and provide feedback to the tax authorities and tax officials in all situations and matters.
