The Meteorological Agency warns that in the next 3-6 hours, Son La province will continue to have rain with average rainfall from 10-40mm, in some places over 70mm.

In the next 6 hours, people are advised to be on guard against the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes in Son La province, especially in the districts of Bac Yen, Moc Chau, Phu Yen, Yen Chau, and Van Ho.

Flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

The meteorological agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.

Weather forecast for regions across the country from the night of April 30 to May 2:

Northern and North Central regions: There will be showers and thunderstorms in some places; from the evening of April 30 to May 1, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

Other areas: In the evening and at night, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. In the Central Highlands and the South, from the evening of May 1, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, sunny days, and hot weather in some places.

The meteorological agency warns that during thunderstorms, be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
