| In Minh Xuan ward, temperatures are forecast to exceed 37 degrees Celsius. |
Over the past 24 hours, many localities have recorded very high temperatures, such as Bac Me at 37.6°C and Minh Xuan at 37.5°C; air humidity has dropped to a minimum of 52-66%, increasing the feeling of stuffiness and the risk of dehydration. Areas such as Bac Me, Na Hang, Lam Binh, and Chiem Hoa are forecast to exceed 39°C in the coming days.
The meteorological agency warns that this heatwave is likely to last until around May 27th, with the risk level for heat-related natural disasters at level 1. Actual outdoor temperatures may be 2-4 degrees Celsius higher than forecast, especially in urban areas where concrete or asphalt surfaces absorb heat strongly.
Prolonged hot weather combined with low humidity increases the risk of fires in residential areas and forest fires due to increased electricity demand. At the same time, people may face dehydration, exhaustion, or heatstroke when working or traveling outdoors for extended periods.
Authorities advise people to limit going outside during peak hours of hot weather, from 12 PM to 5 PM, to stay hydrated, and to proactively take measures to prevent fires and protect their health.
