QNgTV - Recently, the use of social media to lure people into illegally crossing the border into Cambodia for work has continued to escalate with increasingly sophisticated methods and tactics. These individuals often post or send messages advertising "easy work, high pay," attractive income, and no qualifications required, targeting the job-seeking mentality of people, especially young people in rural areas.

The police in Dak Ro Wa commune, Quang Ngai province, in coordination with other professional units, received Y.Ng. (residing in Dak Ro Wa commune) from Cambodian authorities. Verification revealed that Y.Ng. had used Facebook to search for employment opportunities due to her need for work.
During this process, many social media accounts proactively contacted people, promising stable jobs with high salaries in Cambodia. These individuals often exploited the job-seeking mentality of rural youth with promises of attractive income and no required professional qualifications.
In May 2025, following instructions from the traffickers, Y.Ng. took a bus to Ho Chi Minh City. There, the traffickers used a car to take her to Cambodia via an unofficial border crossing without completing any exit procedures as required by Vietnamese law.
After working illegally in Cambodia for some time, Y.Ng. was detained by Cambodian authorities before being repatriated in April 2026. This is an alarming situation where many unsuspecting laborers are forced into work or exploited after illegally leaving the country.
