Cybercriminals take advantage of fake "blue tick" fanpages to launch attractive promotions to commit fraud.

Most recently, a fake "blue tick" fanpage has appeared under the brand name "Bao Tin Minh Chau" posting fake information, especially fake "gold gift promotion programs" with the aim of taking advantage of customers, enticing them to transfer deposits, and appropriating their assets. This company recommends that customers should go directly to the business establishments and contact the hotline number posted on the company's official website.

The trick of using fanpages with "blue ticks" and fake Facebook accounts to commit fraud is not new, it has happened many times.

Always be vigilant, it is mandatory to check the transparency of the information page, never transfer money without verification, promptly report unusual signs to the authorities to prevent fraud.

How to check Page transparency on Facebook:

• For Pages with “green tick”: select " Page Name" → " Learn More About This Page" .

The page has a fake "blue tick" - after checking steps it shows the page name has been changed and is logged in outside of Vietnam.

For Pages that do not have a “blue tick”: select " About" → " Page Transparency" .

People need to pay attention to the page name change history and the country/region where the page administrator logged in. Most of the fake accounts are newly created or have recently changed their names and posted advertisements in a short time, and are logged in outside of Vietnam.
