Understanding the psychology of workers (who have lost their jobs) wanting to pay social insurance, many subjects have impersonated social insurance (SI) to commit acts of property appropriation, causing many victims to lose from several million to billions of dong in their bank accounts.
With the invitation to withdraw social insurance at one time, withdraw before the deadline, maternity allowance, unemployment insurance, re-issue social insurance books, resolve overdue records... taking advantage of people's gullibility and need to withdraw benefits, pay health insurance fees, some subjects claim to be officers working in the social insurance agency, then ask the victims to transfer money into their accounts to appropriate.

Specifically, there are 3 main channels targeted by the subjects: fraud via phone; sending messages, gmail links (links); through social networking sites Facebook, Zalo, Viber ... where the subjects ask the workers to provide the process of paying social insurance on the application "VssID - Digital Social Insurance", personal information, phone number or citizen identification to calculate the amount of money received depending on the needs of the workers. The subjects also promise that only 5% of the file processing fee is paid to the account provided by the "employee", the worker will disburse to the worker within 2 working days. But right after the money transfer transaction is successfully completed, the "employee" suddenly disappears and the fee amount also "disappears", causing many people to panic because they have fallen into the scammer's net.
It is not difficult to come across websites impersonating the Social Insurance Agency. (Screenshot)
In fact, this is not the first time that subjects have "faked tricks" under the name of Social Insurance agencies or Social Insurance agency officials; especially in 2021 when Social Insurance implemented the payment of support packages according to Resolution 116/NQ-CP for employees participating in unemployment insurance affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. Although vigilance has been raised, many people still "swallow the bitter pill" when they accidentally become victims of online scammers with increasingly sophisticated and diverse forms and tricks.

Faced with the above situation, Vietnam Social Security has issued a warning to employees, units and organizations not to learn about information, processes and procedures of Social Security through unofficial pages, groups, forums... Be absolutely cautious with strange phone numbers with the prefixes: 0555..., 8009... of subjects claiming to be Social Security employees requesting personal information or money transfer operations, to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed by bad guys. In case of receiving a notification or fraudulent call, immediately contact the nearest authorities. In addition, people need to regularly update information on security and order to promptly grasp and prevent "online" scams.
Currently, Vietnam Social Security only conducts online transactions with people and businesses through official information channels such as: Vietnam Social Security Electronic Information Portal; Facebook Fanpage: baohiemxahoi.gov.vn.
