For several consecutive days, the EVN Hanoi website has been updating the schedule of temporary power outages in areas across the city, narrowing down the list of affected areas. Notably, many central districts and wards, such as Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, and Hoang Mai, have been reported as not experiencing power cuts for several days. These districts were all reported as having "no information about power outages" from June 6th to 8th.

Even suburban areas like Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Phuc Tho, Quoc Oai, Phu Xuyen, Thach That, Hoang Mai, Nam Tu Liem, etc., were updated with "no information on power outages" from June 8-9.

However, according to VTC News reporters, power outages continued to occur in Vinh Tuy and Minh Khai wards of Hai Ba Trung district over the past few days. For example, the VTC Online building at 18 Tam Trinh lost power for several hours, forcing most offices there to close.

A section of Thanh Tri ward in Hoang Mai district also experienced a power outage for several hours.

Yen Hoa and Trung Hoa streets in Cau Giay district also experienced power outages on June 8th, despite the EVN Hanoi website stating that "power supply was uninterrupted".

Similarly, many areas in Nam Tu Liem district also experienced power outages from 9 am to 11 am on June 8th. Districts such as Dong Anh, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, Quoc Oai, Phu Xuyen, Thach That, and Thuong Tin also reported power outages.

Hanoi's inaccurate updates on the power supply situation in various areas led people to initially believe that power outages in Hanoi had been reduced and brought under control. Many customers and businesses trusted Hanoi's power company's announcement schedule, ultimately experiencing disruptions to their production and daily lives.

Regarding this issue, a representative from EVN Hanoi's media department stated that Hanoi has made every effort to address the problem of electricity transmission and distribution. However, it has not been possible to resolve it completely. Power outages have occurred in most areas. Some places received timely notification, while others did not.

"Regarding areas where power outages occurred without prior notice, most were due to forced power cuts. This means that the area was in a situation where the safety of the power lines was threatened, requiring immediate power outage. And forced power cuts cannot be announced in time," explained a representative from EVN Hanoi.

According to a representative from EVN Hanoi, the electricity sector is currently facing a tense and crisis-ridden period. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, along with the Vietnam Electricity Group, has intervened to address the issues and acknowledged its mistakes. EVN Hanoi acknowledges that it has done its best, but as a non-production unit with only a coordinating role, the entire sector has strived to perform its coordination duties effectively. However, due to objective reasons, unforeseen incidents still occurred.

According to the latest update from VTC News, from June 9th to 12th, the districts of Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem, Ha Dong, Dong Anh, and Soc Son will continue to be listed by EVN Hanoi as having "no information on power outages." Given the continued unannounced and unpredictable power cuts, it is difficult to guarantee that these areas will not experience power outages.
