After listening to the report from the Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Head of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 32nd SEA Games, Dang Ha Viet, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed: "On behalf of the Party and the State, I would like to send to the Vietnamese sports delegation my best wishes for good health and congratulations on the achievements that the teams have achieved at the 32nd SEA Games. This is a very emotional tournament. The Vietnamese delegation has demonstrated the Vietnamese spirit, unity, nobility, and integrity, which has been highly appreciated by international friends. This is also the first SEA Games held abroad where the Vietnamese delegation has won first place overall with 359 medals (including 136 gold medals, breaking 12 SEA Games records, and setting 4 new SEA Games records)."

This achievement is truly admirable and glorious, bringing joy not only to the Vietnamese sports delegation but also to the entire nation. I would like to welcome and congratulate the delegation on this achievement. I understand that behind these achievements, these medals, these glories, lie touching stories. Everyone who wears the national team jersey has their own destiny, their own stories, their own circumstances to overcome. The common thread among Vietnamese athletes is their unwavering will, their determination, their refusal to give up, their resolve to surpass themselves, and their effort to achieve the highest possible results."

Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games and was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam.

Young swimmer Pham Thanh Bao wins 2 gold medals and breaks 2 SEA Games records.

President Vo Van Thuong shared: "I am deeply moved and proud of the story of Nguyen Thi Oanh. In just 30 minutes, athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh won two SEA Games gold medals, which is truly rare. But when interviewed, Nguyen Thi Oanh didn't mention any difficulties. Our outstanding athletes are like artists, always giving their all with the highest level of creativity. I am also touched by swimmer Pham Thanh Bao. Despite a family tragedy (his grandmother passed away), Bao overcame his personal grief and sorrow to strive for the highest achievement, defeating strong opponents. The story of coach Mai Duc Chung is also deeply moving. The Vietnamese sports delegation has brought much fresh inspiration and motivates us to strive as each member of the delegation does."

The Vietnamese women's football team won the SEA Games gold medal for the fourth consecutive time.

President Vo Van Thuong expressed: "I also want to share my thoughts with the female athletes. In the past, Uncle Ho bestowed upon Vietnamese women eight words: 'Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and capable.' For the female athletes, your efforts are extraordinary; men should learn from and emulate you. Previously, we had Dang Thi Dong (shooting), Tran Hieu Ngan, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien (who won the most gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games), and now we have Nguyen Thi Oanh (athletics), and the Vietnamese women's football team has won the SEA Games championship eight times – including four consecutive gold medals. When the Vietnamese national anthem plays and the Vietnamese flag is raised at regional sporting events, we feel incredibly moved and proud."
