The Long Bien Bridge, the first steel bridge spanning the Red River, connects Hoan Kiem and Long Bien districts. Built between 1898 and 1902, it is 2,290 meters long and has 19 steel girder spans. The bridge bears a strong historical imprint and is nicknamed the "horizontal Eiffel Tower of Hanoi ".
