Long Bien Bridge reopens to traffic after two months of repairs.

After two months of repairs, starting May 28th, Hanoi has allowed motorbikes, bicycles, and pedestrians to travel on Long Bien Bridge in both directions.

The Hanoi Department of Construction has just announced the restoration of the traffic organization plan on Long Bien Bridge after the completion of emergency repairs to the pedestrian walkways, motorbike lanes, and lanes for non-motorized vehicles (road sections on both sides of the bridge) to ensure safety for the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line.

According to the announcement, motorbikes, bicycles, and pedestrians are permitted to travel on Long Bien Bridge (from Bo De to Hoan Kiem and from Hoan Kiem to Bo De) on the completed pedestrian walkways and lanes for motorbikes and bicycles.

The implementation will begin at 00:00 on May 28th.

The investor and the construction unit are responsible for removing all traffic diversion signs and restoring the existing traffic signs (before adjusting traffic flow for bridge repair).

The investor and the construction company are fully responsible for ensuring traffic safety for vehicles crossing the Long Bien Bridge.

Previously, on March 26th, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced temporary traffic adjustments on Long Bien Bridge to facilitate emergency repairs to the pedestrian walkway, motorbike lane, and lanes for non-motorized vehicles on the bridge.

Repairing the Long Bien Bridge aims to ensure the safety of the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line.

To facilitate repairs, Hanoi will ban motorbikes and pedestrians on pedestrian and motorbike lanes from 9:00 AM on March 28th until the end of May 27th, 2026 (60 days).

While the Long Bien Bridge was under repair, vehicles diverted to the Chuong Duong Bridge, causing frequent traffic congestion, especially during rush hour.
