With only about 9 days left until the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, how can we ensure that every voter, whether in remote areas, border regions, or islands, understands their rights and responsibilities and actively participates in Election Day?
To achieve this, public awareness campaigns play a crucial role. In particular, local officials and influential figures act as a bridge, bringing the election day closer to every citizen.
In recent days, Mr. Vi Van Toan, a respected figure in Sai village (Thien Phu commune, Thanh Hoa province), has been diligently going from house to house, checking every hamlet, to spread awareness about the election. He understands that for a vote to truly be valuable, each voter must clearly understand their rights and responsibilities.

Playing a pivotal role in villages and hamlets, respected community leaders and village heads become important bridges, helping people access information quickly and promptly.
Mr. Vi Van Toan (Sai village, Thien Phu commune, Thanh Hoa province) shared: "Standing before society, and especially before the voters and the people, I have a responsibility to disseminate information so that the people understand the program and content of the National Assembly and People's Council elections at all levels."
Playing a pivotal role in villages and hamlets, respected community leaders and village heads have become important bridges, helping people access information quickly and promptly. Thanks to their close involvement, people understand that voting is not only a right but also a responsibility of every citizen.
As for fishermen in coastal areas, each fishing trip usually lasts no more than 20 days. Some fishermen have been at sea for nearly a month, but after talking with Ms. Hoa (Head of Thanh Dat residential group, Nam Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province), they now have a firm grasp of the election date.
"The village head came down to spread the word to the fishermen. The fishermen tried their best to get there in time to cast their votes," said Mr. Tran Ngoc Dong (Nam Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province).
Ms. Hoa was familiar with every fisherman here. By carefully reviewing the voter list, she knew which voters lived in which areas, whether they fished offshore or not, and these people were always given top priority when campaigning for elections.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Head of Thanh Dat residential group, Nam Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province) said: "We campaigned. Voters said they were going to the beach and would try to come back because it only happens once every five years - the national election day - so the voters were enthusiastic."
"For coastal village areas, relying on neighborhood committees, the elders and older siblings are very closely connected to the grassroots, have prestige among the people, and therefore, this force is very effective in carrying out mobilization efforts," said Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province).
Through face-to-face meetings to disseminate information, or by posting election information on neighborhood Zalo groups, depending on the specific circumstances of each area, election committees have adopted flexible methods to ensure that all voters know the time and place to vote and understand the candidates' action programs.
Everyone, despite being busy with their own work, shares a common vision for this national event, wishing to personally cast their votes to choose the most worthy representatives.
