Sieng Chanthea, 20 years old this year, has been playing for the U.19, U.22, U.23 and Cambodian national teams since 2019 (17 years old). Previously, this player played for the Cambodian U.17 team since the age of 14 (2016). Sieng Chanthea holds the record for the fastest goal in the history of men's football at the SEA Games, scoring in the 18th second in the match between Cambodia U22 and Myanmar U22 on December 10, 2019 at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines. In addition, this player also holds the record for being the youngest player in the history of Cambodian football to score for the team when he is about to turn 17, in the match where Cambodia won 2-0 against Pakistan in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on June 6, 2019.
U.22 Cambodia aims for medals at SEA Games 32: Is the mission feasible?
At the recent AFF Cup 2020 and 2022, as well as at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam taking place in May 2022, Sieng Chanthea has always been the favorite player used by coach Keisuke Honda to play officially in every match. Up to now, this 1.65 m tall striker has played 26 matches for the Cambodian team, scoring 3 goals. Including 1 goal against the Thai team in the group stage of the AFF Cup 2022 when the Cambodian team lost 1-3.
In youth teams such as Cambodia U.22 or U.23, Sieng Chanthea is the number 1 striker with a total of 8 goals in 15 matches so far. At the Merlion Cup at the end of March, Sieng Chanthea continued to show his stable performance when he helped Cambodia U.22 win 3rd place with a 2-1 victory over Singapore U.22.

At the 32nd SEA Games at home, U.22 Cambodia is in Group A with U.22 Indonesia, U.22 Myanmar, U.22 Philippines and U.22 Timor Leste. Coach Keisuke Honda and his team will have their opening match against U.22 Timor Leste at 7:00 p.m. on April 29 at the Olympic Stadium in the capital Phnom Penh. Before that is the opening match between U.22 Indonesia and U.22 Philippines at 4:00 p.m.
