Indonesian futsal continued its surprising run at the tournament by defeating one of the continent's leading futsal nations. Playing at home with enthusiastic support from the fans, Indonesia started confidently and capitalized on opportunities to secure a convincing victory. Meanwhile, Japan, despite their best efforts, could not turn the tide against their opponent's fast-paced and effective style of play.

After the match, captain Shimizu admitted he felt sad and disappointed that his team was eliminated in the semi-finals. In a post-match interview, Shimizu broke down in tears as he shared his feelings about the defeat against Indonesia in futsal.

"I'm very sad about this result, but I also want to congratulate Indonesia," said Shimizu. The captain of the Japanese futsal team previously played for Thai Son Nam in 2019, when they represented Vietnam in the Asian Futsal Champions League in Thailand. In 2022, Shimizu and the Japanese futsal team defeated Vietnam 2-0 in the group stage of the Asian Futsal Championship.
