Evil Association Quang Ninh War Veterans Association has promoted the spirit of solidarity and exemplary behavior, effectively implementing many environmental protection models in residential areas.
In recent years, keeping roads and alleys bright, green, clean and beautiful has become a vibrant emulation movement in many residential areas in the province. Many creative models, suitable to the characteristics of each locality, have been effectively applied by the Veterans Association at all levels, promoting the proactive spirit of people in protecting the landscape, building a civilized urban lifestyle and building new rural areas.
A typical example is the area of Tue Tinh street and the intersection in front of the gate of Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, in Ward 6, Uong Bi Ward. Previously, this area often had encroachment on the road, sidewalks, garbage accumulation, disorder and urban beauty. However, since the establishment of the People's Self-Management Group on Security and Order with the core of the War Veterans, the appearance of the neighborhood has changed significantly.
Every week, the veterans in the People's Self-Managed Security and Order Group divide their forces to organize patrols, propagate, and mobilize people to strictly comply with regulations on environmental sanitation and urban order. With the motto "Slow and steady wins the race", the veterans persistently remind violators, combining skillful propaganda, thereby creating changes in awareness and action among the people. Veteran Nguyen Van Tien (69 years old), a member of the People's Self-Managed Security and Order Group with veterans as the core of Ward 6, shared: I feel that as long as I am healthy, I can contribute to the locality. The veterans in the group are all very enthusiastic and responsible, contributing to keeping the neighborhood peaceful and clean.
Not only stopping at environmental protection in residential areas, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province also actively participates in many other practical activities such as planting and protecting forests, contributing to maintaining and promoting ecological values with unique and sustainable characteristics. One of the typical models is the War Veterans Club participating in protecting mangrove forests in Dong Ngu commune. With a high sense of responsibility, War Veterans Association members have together managed, looked after and effectively protected 370 hectares of coastal mangrove forests. Thanks to that, the mangrove ecosystem here is well preserved, the dyke system is naturally reinforced, preventing erosion and protecting the safety of people's lives, while restoring local aquatic resources.
In addition, many War Veterans Association members also actively participate in economic development models associated with forest protection, converting to large timber forests according to the province's policy. These models not only create a stable source of income but also contribute significantly to landscape preservation, biodiversity protection, and climate change adaptation. Up to now, the War Veterans Association at all levels in the province has established and maintained 93 clubs and self-managed teams for environmental protection with the participation of more than 4,200 members. This is an important mass force, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, building a civilized lifestyle, and joining hands for the goal of sustainable development.
Not only are they the core force in environmental self-management models, the war veterans are also the pioneers in movements launched by the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. They are Uncle Ho's soldiers, returning to civilian life but still maintaining the spirit of dedication to the community.
It can be affirmed that the organization and members of the Provincial Veterans Association are increasingly asserting their role as a pioneer in environmental protection, from specific work in each alley and village to larger activities on a regional scale. Their silent but persistent contributions have been and are making an important contribution to building the homeland of Quang Ninh to become more and more prosperous.
