Immediately after the 0-1 defeat to Iraq in the 4th qualifying round in the early morning of October 12, tens of thousands of accounts on the X platform simultaneously posted the hashtag #KluivertOut (Kluivert leaves), expressing their anger and calling on the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) to terminate the contract with the Dutch football legend.

In the last match, the Indonesian team under the leadership of Kluivert performed a deadlocked style of play, lacking creativity. After two consecutive losses (0-1 against Iraq and 2-3 against Saudi Arabia), Indonesia finished bottom of Group B, officially saying goodbye to the 2026 World Cup.

Indonesian fans immediately reacted with anger to the achievement. Statistics show that there were more than 30,000 posts using the hashtag #KluivertOut in just a few hours after the match. This number was enough to make the phrase the number one trend in Indonesia.

In fact, doubts about the Dutch coach appeared before the 4th qualifying round started. As early as January 2025, when PSSI decided to part ways with coach Shin Tae-yong and appoint Kluivert, many fans protested fiercely and even spread the hashtag #KluivertOut even though he had not yet arrived in Jakarta.

To date, Kluivert has led Indonesia to eight matches, but has only recorded three wins, one draw and four defeats. This poor performance has further fueled the wave of protests from fans.

U23 Indonesia's thrilling victory over Thailand On the night of July 25, Indonesia tied Thailand 1-1 in 120 minutes, then won 7-6 in the penalty shootout in the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian tournament.
