Over the years, Busmap has been a popular and highly-rated app. It was created with the goal of making bus travel easier and more convenient for everyone.

In addition, BusMap features intelligent route finding that guides users to the best bus routes between any two locations. It also allows users to look up detailed information for each bus route: departure times, stops, and even see the arrival time of the bus at any station, based on real-time GPS data from the bus. Furthermore, BusMap makes it easy to find bus stops near the user's current location, displaying them visually on the map…

These "advantages" have helped BusMap attract approximately 600,000 to 1 million new users each year.

It's worth mentioning that BusMap was designed by Le Yen Thanh in 2013, when he was a student at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City. BusMap successfully raised $1.5 million from Phenikaa Group and became a leading startup providing smart transportation solutions in Vietnam.

During the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic (2020-2021), Phenikaa MaaS collaborated with the 1022 Public Service Center to deploy a Covid-19 epidemiological map to help people track the travel history of Covid-19 patients in Da Nang City and 17 provinces and cities nationwide. This contributed to the collective effort to combat the pandemic.

And recently, BusMap helped its creator, Le Yen Thanh, to have the honor of receiving the "Youth Living Beautifully" award from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in 2024.

We will strive to contribute more and better technology products.

Speaking to a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper, Le Yen Thanh said: “I feel happy and proud to receive the “Youth Living Beautifully” award for those who have contributed to the community. This award is a recognition and a motivation for me to strive and contribute even more excellent technology products in the future.”

According to Le Yen Thanh, some people working in technology focus on making money, creating products that generate revenue and profit to contribute to the economy . However, for him, developing the BusMap application was about serving the community. “You could say BusMap is a product that supports the community, rather than generating significant revenue for the company, while operating costs are high. Even so, instead of viewing BusMap as a burden, I see it as a motivation for myself and my colleagues to contribute to the community,” Le Yen Thanh said.

Le Yen Thanh shared a desire to develop the company in other areas, thereby helping it maintain and grow better. “And when we have better economic resources, we will contribute more to BusMap. I still want to do more for the users who are currently using BusMap. But currently, we don't have enough resources to develop even better features for the application,” Le Yen Thanh said.

The "Youth Living Beautifully" Award 2024 is organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union in collaboration with TCP Vietnam Co., Ltd. The awards ceremony will take place in October 2024 in Hanoi.

Le Yen Thanh has made many contributions over the past years and was selected by Forbes Vietnam and Forbes Asia for the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2022.

Currently, in addition to running a startup company with over 30 employees, Le Yen Thanh is also a member of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Informatics Association and a member of the Executive Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association, contributing to the development of entrepreneurship and informatics in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.

Phenikaa MaaS is currently a startup company providing various smart transportation solutions to transport businesses in Vietnam such as Vinbus, Vinfast, Becamex Tokyu, Da Nang City and Hanoi City.
