Grading the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi:

According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, immediately after the end of the last day of the entrance exam for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year, June 2nd, the grading committee began the grading process.

The grading committee held a meeting with all subject heads to finalize the grading method. The grading process was conducted rigorously, ensuring fairness, objectivity, and an accurate assessment of the candidates' abilities.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, this year's exam questions meet the requirements of assessing students' abilities while also having a high level of differentiation.

For mathematics

The exam ensures accuracy, has a familiar structure for candidates, and is designed according to levels of knowledge, comprehension, and application. Some questions are designed to differentiate students, such as questions II.3, III.3, question c in the Plane Geometry section, and question V - the last question of the exam.

Question V is a difficult application-level question, worth 0.5 points. The problem relates to a real-world situation involving order fulfillment, daily warehouse rental costs, and bonuses for workers upon order completion. To solve it correctly, students need to accurately understand the given data, especially the requirement to complete an order of 1,000 products and the calculation of daily warehouse rental costs.

According to information from the grading committee, 38 heads of math grading teams met and agreed on how to handle certain situations in the candidates' papers. Specifically, for question V, if a student misunderstands the condition of the problem, leading to reasoning that 5xy = 1000 instead of 5xy ≥ 1000, but still performs the remaining steps correctly, only 0.25 points will be deducted.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training stated that any situations arising during the grading process are considered and specifically regulated by the grading committee to ensure accurate assessment of abilities, fairness, objectivity, and the rights of candidates.

The entrance exam for 10th grade in Hanoi's non-specialized public high schools for the 2026-2027 school year took place on May 30th and 31st with approximately 124,000 candidates, making it the largest number of candidates ever. Candidates took three exams: Vietnamese Literature, Foreign Language, and Mathematics.

Exam scores and admission cutoff scores for 10th grade are expected to be announced between June 19th and 22nd, 2026.
