Recently, the Women's Union of Dien Khanh commune coordinated with the Commune Police to organize the scholarship program "Following you to school" and presented gifts to the "foster children" of the Commune Police. At the program, the units awarded 43 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, 2 gifts to the "foster children" of the Commune Police with a total value of 25.5 million VND. Ms. Thai Thi Tuyet Le - President of the Women's Union of Dien Khanh commune said: "This is an annual program implemented by the association at the beginning of the new school year to help disadvantaged students have more conditions to go to school. Every year, the association mobilizes funds from benefactors to award from 10 to 45 scholarships, each worth 500,000 VND. The association also mobilizes the Commune Police to sponsor and support 2 orphans in especially difficult circumstances until they turn 18 years old." Her mother passed away and her father had another family, so Nguyen Hoang Thao Ngoc (born in 2008, Phu An Nam 2 village) lives with her grandmother. She is old but still works to earn money to support her education. Knowing her situation over the years, the Women's Union of the commune has awarded Ngoc a scholarship before the new school year. "This year, I study with old books left by my cousin, and notebooks given by the locality. I am very happy and grateful to receive the scholarship. Thanks to that, I have more money to pay the fees at the beginning of the year, buy more books, and reduce some of the financial burden for my grandmother," Ngoc shared.

In Ninh Chu ward, the Women's Union of the ward visited and presented 6 gifts (VND 400,000/gift) to orphans sponsored by the union to give them more motivation for the new school year, the cost was taken from the union's fund. The Women's Union of Quarter 2, Ninh Chu ward mobilized donors to raise nearly VND 7 million to present school uniforms, shoes, school supplies, books, rice, milk... to 5 disadvantaged children in the locality, helping them to go to school more fully.
Mobilize all resources to support
With the piggy bank fund, the Women's Union of Nha Ho 1 Residential Group and the Women's Union of Luong Cang 1 Residential Group in Do Vinh Ward donated 20 gifts (each gift included 100,000 VND, 5 notebooks) and 3 school bags to disadvantaged students, helping them have more conditions to go to school. The Women's Union of Do Vinh Ward coordinated with the Saigon Volunteer Group to donate 143 sets of textbooks to students of Nha Ho Primary School with a total amount of nearly 54 million VND. To support students in ethnic minority areas, the Women's Union of Cam Hiep and Cam An communes organized free haircuts for students in the villages of Van Son (Cam An commune), Suoi Coc and Valy (Cam Hiep commune). Mau Quynh Truc An - a 5th grade student of Son Tan Primary School, Cam Hiep commune shared: "I thank the attention and support from the association for helping us have neat and clean hair before entering the new school year".

In Bac Ninh Hoa commune, from the scrap collection fund of the model "Green House", "Scrap collection accompanying poor women" and strong mobilization of benefactors, the women's associations of the villages: Lac Binh, Ninh Dien, Lac Ninh, Chanh Thanh, Lac An, Binh Son have collected to give 85 "Following you to school" gifts to students in difficult circumstances, each gift from 300,000 to 500,000 VND. Meanwhile, the Women's Union of Vinh Hai commune strongly mobilized benefactors in Ho Chi Minh City to give 200 gifts (400,000 VND/gift) including: Necessities, books, school bags for disadvantaged students in the two villages of Cau Gay and Da Hang. The Women's Union of Vinh Hai commune Police gave gifts worth 1.5 million VND to 2 orphaned children in My Tan village. In addition, the branches and Women's Unions of communes and wards such as Cam An, Tay Ninh Hoa, Ca Na, Van Hung, Nam Nha Trang... also have many activities to "support" disadvantaged and orphaned children on the occasion of the new school year.
Ms. Nguyen Hoang Van Ha - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said that before the new school year, the union at all levels has implemented many meaningful activities such as: Visiting, giving gifts, and granting scholarships to students in difficult circumstances and orphans. Resources are mobilized from contributions of members, donors, funds from models... to support both materially and spiritually, creating motivation to help children overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
