Days of sweating on the training ground
Mission A80 of the Vietnam Air Force has 9 flight groups with 30 aircraft including helicopters, C295, C212i, Yak-130, L-39NG, Su-30MK2 performing a welcome flight. These aircraft will use 3 airports for takeoff and landing including Hoa Lac, Gia Lam ( Hanoi ) and Kep (Bac Ninh).
While technicians and mechanics are busy "taking care of the iron birds", many pilots are also actively preparing for daily practice flights.
Demonstration flying requires each aircraft to maintain the correct speed range at low altitude, so pilots will need to operate precisely throughout the journey to ensure safety and create beautiful performances.
Before and after each flight, the "iron birds" will be thoroughly inspected to ensure technical safety.
Proud moment in the peaceful sky of the Fatherland
The Air Force's flyover performance opened the parade at Ba Dinh Square, with five types of aircraft participating: Mi helicopters, CACA transport, Su-30MK2, L39NG and Yak-130.
The Mi-17/Mi-171/Mi-172 helicopter squadron, carrying the Party flag and the national flag, flew over the historic Ba Dinh Square, symbolizing the strength of great solidarity, the pride of the Party and the nation, demonstrating the mettle, intelligence, and aspiration to build the country to take off and soar in the new era.
These aircraft belong to the Air Defense - Air Force with the participation of elite squadrons from key flight regiments such as Regiments 916, 917 and 930. The Mi helicopter squadron performed a flag-raising performance in a 1-3-3-3 formation.
Next is the CASA C-295 aircraft, which is designed to perform a variety of missions, including military transport, airborne landings and maritime patrol. Known as the largest tactical transport aircraft of the Vietnam Air Force, the real power of the C-295 lies not in its firepower such as missiles or bombs, but in its impressive technical specifications, developed to optimize logistics operations.
Appearing in the peaceful sky of the Capital is the performance of the L-39NG aircraft. With advanced technology and multi-mission capabilities, the L-39NG aircraft, equipped with the FJ44-4M engine, is not only an "air classroom" but also ready to participate in combat with the ability to mount 5 types of weapons. This type of aircraft appeared for the first time in a mission, flying in a formation of 4 aircraft in a ladder formation.
In addition, the Yak-130 aircraft, a light attack aircraft and combat trainer aircraft produced by the Yakovlev Corporation (Russia), plays an important role as a bridge.
With the ability to simulate the flight performance of many modern fighter jets, the Yak-130 helps pilots get closer to mastering new generation fighter jets. It is worth noting that this is the first time the Vietnam Air Defense - Air Force has conducted joint training of 6 Yak-130s for a large mission like the A80, a number that is double that of the A50 anniversary in April.
And the centerpiece of the welcoming formation is the "King Cobra" Su-30MK2. This is the first time the Vietnam Air Force has deployed a flight demonstration plan with a formation of 5 Su-30MK2s. The appearance of this heavy, multi-role fighter is a strong affirmation of the strength and bravery of the Vietnam People's Air Force.
In the historical autumn sunshine, millions of eyes and hearts turned to the birth day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The air force of the Vietnam People's Army performed a display of fighter planes demonstrating their power in the sky, accompanied by the cheers and joy of the people - the sounds of a peaceful country./.
