Hanoi – A woodworking workshop spanning approximately 60 square meters in Yen So ward, Hoang Mai district, caught fire and the flames then spread to a neighboring two-story house on the morning of May 4th.
Around 9 a.m., a fire broke out, accompanied by several explosions, from the back of a woodworking factory located in alley 975, Tam Trinh Street, Yen So Ward. Local residents used small fire extinguishers to try and put out the fire, but without success. "Within about 10 minutes, the fire had engulfed the factory," a witness recounted.
Because the workshop contained wood and the weather was hot, the fire spread to the adjacent two-story house, rising about 7 meters high, with thick black smoke billowing along Tam Trinh road.
The factory was closed at the time of the fire. Normally, there are four workers employed there.

The Hoang Mai District Police mobilized three fire trucks and approximately 30 personnel to the scene. By 9:40 AM, the fire was under control. Firefighters took turns wearing oxygen tanks to inspect the interior and spray water to prevent the fire from spreading.
According to the leaders of Yen So Ward People's Committee, the fire did not cause any casualties, but the wood workshop was almost completely destroyed. The fire only spread slightly to the adjacent house and was brought under control in time.
