The young England striker has scored 12 Premier League goals this season. Liam Delap has a release clause of just £30m in his contract with Ipswich Town.

MU are looking for a new striker and have targeted Delap but the 22-year-old striker wants to work with coach Enzo Maresca - who guided him at Man City academy.

Signing Delap would be seen as a big step forward for Chelsea, as he is one of the most sought-after young strikers in the UK at the moment.

Liam Delap joined Ipswich from Man City last summer for £20m. He had a £40m release clause, but that dropped to £30m when Ipswich were relegated.

Despite making a good impression, Delap's goals were not enough to help Ipswich avoid returning to the First Division next season.

Liam Delap's strengths are his diverse finishing ability and good sweeping power thanks to his superior physique.

He has also caught the eye of new England manager Thomas Tuchel. However, Delap will still focus on the England U21 team, with Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) and Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Southampton).
