Sterling had a disappointing season on loan at Arsenal last year. The English striker still has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, earning £325,000 per week.
According to the Telegraph, both Sterling and Chelsea are looking for a long-term solution for his future, with a loan move also being considered.

This is just one of many players that the London club wants to offload in the final days of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Chelsea are in the process of selling or loaning out Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, Anselmino and Tyrique George over the next two weeks.
The Blues believe they will generate £300 million from player sales in the coming period, leaving their net spending this summer almost zero.
Fulham are interested in Sterling. The former Man City striker himself hopes to remain in London, where his family is happily living.
Manager Maresca informed Sterling that he would not be allowed to play for Chelsea next season if he stayed. The 30-year-old striker doesn't even have a profile or photo in the first-team section of the club's website.
This past summer, The Blues signed a number of young forwards including Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, so Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Nkunku lost their places in the team.
