In a fierce fight for the ball, midfielder Moises Caicedo suffered an ankle injury. Although he was treated by the medical team and was able to continue playing during the match, his ability to play in the final remains uncertain.
Speaking after the match, coach Enzo Maresca said: "I told Caicedo that he needs to do everything to be on the field on July 14. We will review the situation."

Caicedo played in four of the five matches at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, playing an important role in Maresca's squad. Against Fluminense, Caicedo had a pass completion rate of 97%. He made three accurate long passes, won six successful duels and made three effective tackles.
In the event that Caicedo is ruled out of the upcoming final, Maresca could use Andrey Santos or Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to play alongside Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer. Both Santos and Dewsbury-Hall came off the bench against Fluminense.
Chelsea's opponent in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ will be the winner of the match between PSG and Real Madrid taking place in the early morning of July 10.
