Man chops off wife's ex-lover's hand out of jealousy.

On January 27th, the Criminal Investigation Team of Minh Thuong District Police ( Kien Giang Province) announced that they had issued a decision to temporarily detain Danh Hoang Linh (30 years old, residing in Minh Cuong Hamlet, Minh Thuan Commune, Minh Thuong District) and Danh Cua (29 years old, residing in Boi Loi B Hamlet, Binh Minh Commune, Vinh Thuan District, Kien Giang Province) for investigation into the act of intentionally causing injury .

During questioning by the police, Linh confessed that on the afternoon of January 24th, he was driving his motorbike with his wife, LTBT, to attend a memorial service at his wife's uncle's house in Hamlet 12, Vinh Hoa Commune, Minh Thuong District. There, he encountered LVU (29 years old), his wife's former boyfriend, who was also present at the party. Overwhelmed by jealousy and anger, Linh left the party and went to lie in a hammock behind the house.

At around 9 PM that same day, Linh drove his wife home and called his nephew, Danh Cua, to go and beat up U. Danh Cua agreed and gathered six other young men. They went back to Cua's house to get a homemade knife, then returned to their uncle's house with Linh (who also had a knife).

After hearing the description of LVU's appearance, Danh Cua sent a group of young men into U's house to invite him outside to "talk." Seeing the group of strangers, and not being friendly, U and his two friends, L. and T., who were drinking with him, went inside to get knives and wooden sticks and chased Danh Cua's group out.

With their accomplices outnumbered, Danh Hoang Linh and Danh Cua immediately drew their knives to help. After a brief skirmish, Linh's group quickly left the scene. At this time, bystanders discovered that U. was unconscious with his left hand severed, L. had been slashed in the right hand, and T. was injured in the left side. All three were rushed to the Vinh Thuan District Medical Center for emergency treatment, and then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.

Upon receiving the report, the Minh Thuong District Police immediately conducted a scene investigation, launched a manhunt, and arrested Linh. By the afternoon of January 26th, through family persuasion, Danh Cua and the others involved in the fight surrendered after more than a day on the run in Ca Mau province.

Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Minh Thuong District, Kien Giang Province, is urgently completing the procedures to initiate a criminal case, prosecute the suspects, and investigate and clarify the actions of those involved.
