Foreign tourists visit the car that carried Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc to the self-immolation site in Saigon, now on display at Thien Mu Pagoda.

Over the years, this historic car was brought back to Hue and solemnly displayed at Thien Mu ancient temple on Ha Khe hill overlooking the poetic Huong river.

According to many documents, on June 11, 1963, Venerable Thich Quang Duc traveled in an Austin car to the self-immolation site to protest against Ngo Dinh Diem's ​​policy of religious discrimination and nepotism at the intersection of Phan Dinh Phung - Le Van Duyet, now Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Cach Mang Thang Tam Street ( Ho Chi Minh City).

After this historic event, the car was brought back to Hue and placed at Thien Mu Pagoda.

Today, the car is placed solemnly in a room behind the main hall of the pagoda. Along with the blue car, which is still quite intact, is a picture of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc burning himself to death and his immortal heart hanging solemnly. Next to it is a biography of the Bodhisattva.

After offering incense and worshiping Buddha in the main hall, the place where this car is displayed becomes a must-see attraction for visitors, along with the available information placed next to it and the tour guides' explanations about the historical fate of the car after more than 50 years of existence and becoming a relic.
