The load-bearing structural components consist of old and new wood interwoven. The floor of the Japanese Covered Bridge after restoration still retains its curved surface. Previously, the Japanese Covered Bridge relic had to stop restoration for a while due to controversy over whether the bridge surface was "curved or straight" and the architecture related to the bridge surface.
The bridge's railings were completely repainted, and the wooden structures were also coated with a new layer of protective paint.
Tourists enjoy taking photos with the new image of Hoi An's Japanese Covered Bridge.
