First military achievement

This year, Regiment 739 and Regiment 991 (both under the Provincial Military Command) received and trained over 800 new recruits; while Division 31 (Corps 34) trained 700 new recruits. After a period of intensive training, all new recruits entered the examination with the determination to achieve the highest possible results.

For new recruits, the "three explosives" test (including AK rifle shooting, grenade throwing, and explosive handling) is not only an assessment of training results after nearly three months of enlistment, but also a milestone marking the first stage of maturity for young soldiers in the military environment.

From early morning on May 27th, the training ground of Regiment 739 resounded with the sounds of marching footsteps, officers calling roll, and decisive commands. The recruits, in their neat uniforms and fully equipped, quickly took their positions awaiting inspection. The atmosphere on the training ground was both tense and exciting, as this was the first time many of the new recruits had been exposed to live ammunition and real explosions.

At exactly 7:00 AM, the inspection signal rang out clearly: "Take explosives! Proceed to the starting line! Advance to the attack line! Approach the target! Prepare... to detonate...". Immediately after the command, the combatants simultaneously shouted "Charge!", rushing towards the target. The sound of exploding explosives mingled with the shouts of "Charge!", making the training ground resemble a real battlefield.

According to Major Ngo Duc Thinh, Battalion Commander of Battalion 52 (Regiment 739), the "three explosions" test is a difficult and unique test specific to the military environment, requiring soldiers to possess strong psychological resilience, the ability to master weapons and equipment, and good physical fitness. To improve the quality of training, the unit regularly monitors the training process, promptly drawing lessons and addressing shortcomings for the troops.

Through the training process, many new recruits overcame their initial apprehension and confidently entered the tests involving real explosions. Private Le Huy Hau (Squad 7, Platoon 9, Company 4, Battalion 52) shared: “Initially, I was nervous because it was my first time experiencing real explosions, but thanks to the dedicated guidance and constant encouragement from the officers, I gradually became more confident, performed the movements correctly, and successfully completed the test.”

For Private Tran Quoc Bao (Platoon 1, Company 5, Battalion 2, Regiment 866, Division 31), passing his first military test was an unforgettable source of pride. “During the test, I tried to stay calm, take deep breaths, perform the movements correctly, and carefully conserve every bullet. For me, successfully completing the test is the result of all the effort and training I've put in over the past time,” Bao expressed.

Confidently marking the first victory.

Through the ongoing tests, many new recruits have achieved excellent results, confidently marking their "first victories" after nearly three months of training in the military environment. In particular, in the AK submachine gun shooting exercise (lesson 1), many soldiers scored excellent marks in their very first shots.

Private Vu Quoc Dai (Squad 8, Platoon 11, Company 3, Battalion 50, Regiment 911) is one of the outstanding soldiers, achieving excellent results in all three "three explosives" tests.

"To achieve high marksmanship, I always try to stay calm, regulate my breathing, and focus on observing the target. Outside of training hours, I often take the opportunity to practice aiming techniques and trigger control so that I can accurately perform each element during the test," Dai shared.

According to assessments from military units, all new recruits demonstrated a serious attitude towards learning, good discipline, and the ability to quickly grasp basic military content. Despite being exposed to real explosions for the first time, the young soldiers maintained their composure and successfully completed their assigned tasks.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quang Trung, Political Commissar of Regiment 739, stated: During the "three explosions" inspection, all units strictly adhered to safety regulations; the soldiers skillfully applied the postures, movements, and content they had been trained in.

At Regiment 991, the training of new recruits is implemented comprehensively, focusing on physical fitness, psychological resilience, and coordination skills in each training content. Officers at all levels always directly monitor the troops, meticulously guiding each technical movement and encouraging new recruits to overcome difficulties and successfully complete their tasks.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Hai Au, Commander of Regiment 991, commented: “This year, the unit's recruits have shown a serious attitude towards learning, good organizational discipline, and clear progress through each training phase. Despite harsh weather conditions and high training intensity, the recruits have all demonstrated a strong spirit of overcoming difficulties, confidently carrying out the inspection tasks, and ensuring absolute safety.”

The "three explosions" test is not only a way to assess the training results of new recruits, but also a crucial test to cultivate courage, willpower, and a strong mentality in young soldiers. From today's sun-drenched and windy training ground, these new recruits are gradually maturing, confidently continuing the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army in the journey ahead.
