
The project of Terminal No. 3 - Lao - Viet International Port is invested by Lao - Viet International Port Joint Stock Company with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND.
The port is 225m long, capable of receiving general cargo ships with a tonnage of up to 45,000 DWT, with an operating capacity of up to 2.15 million tons of goods/year; land area used is 43,928m² and water surface is 42,000m².
On March 25, 2025, the Vietnam Maritime Administration ( Ministry of Construction ) issued Decision No. 254/QD-CHHDTVN on the announcement of the opening of wharf No. 3 - Vung Ang port, Ha Tinh province, marking the official putting of the port into operation.

Terminal No. 3 - Lao - Vietnam International Port put into operation contributes to improving cargo handling capacity, meeting the increasing demand for cargo circulation. At the same time, increasing the attractiveness index in attracting investment in the region, increasingly serving import-export and trade activities with Laos and the Northeast region of Thailand; creating favorable conditions for the Lao Government to import and export goods through Vietnamese seaports.
Terminal No. 3 - Lao - Vietnam International Port is not only an infrastructure project of economic significance but also a symbol of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive, sustainable cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The project coming into operation is a testament to the in-depth, practical and effective implementation of the commitments between the governments of Laos and Vietnam on investment cooperation in developing the three terminals No. 1, 2, 3 of Vung Ang port.
