China Airlines orders 10 A350-1000 long-range aircraft.

Taiwan's China Airlines has signed a contract to purchase 10 A350-1000 long-range aircraft from Airbus, fulfilling a commitment the airline announced in December 2024.

The new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will be used for long-haul flights to North America and Europe. With comprehensive operational similarities to the airline's existing A350-900 fleet, these 10 new aircraft ensure seamless and efficient integration into the fleet. Airbus's innovation not only enhances the flying experience but also strengthens the airline's position in the international aviation industry.

As the world's most modern and efficient wide-body aircraft, the A350 has set new standards for transcontinental flights. It boasts the longest range among currently produced commercial passenger aircraft. Equipped with the latest generation of Rolls-Royce engines, the A350 has a range of 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 km), using 25% less fuel and reducing carbon emissions by 25% compared to previous generations of aircraft.

Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 can operate on 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Airbus aims to use 100% SAF for its aircraft fleet by 2030.

The A350 aircraft family has received more than 1,360 orders from 60 customers worldwide, with over 640 aircraft currently operated by 38 airlines, primarily serving long-haul flights.

China Airlines utilizes a variety of Airbus aircraft across its network. The airline currently operates a fleet of 15 A350-900s for long-haul flights to Europe and the United States, as well as select routes to Asia and the Pacific. In addition, it operates 15 A321neo and 16 A330s for regional flights.

China Airlines currently operates a network of routes to 192 destinations in 29 countries/regions, including three destinations in Vietnam: Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.
