Officially amending the curriculum of 3 subjects at high school level

The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued Circular No. 17/2025 amending and supplementing a number of contents in the General Education Program (GEP) issued together with Circular No. 32/2018 of the Minister of Education and Training. Previously, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 202/2025 on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units and Resolution No. 203/2025 on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

To comply with the Constitution and the Resolution of the National Assembly, the educational programs of the subjects History and Geography at the primary and secondary levels; Geography for grade 12; History for grade 10 and Civic Education for grade 10 ( Economic and Legal Education) need to be revised. The Ministry of Education and Training has organized research to develop the program, revise and supplement the educational programs of the above subjects according to the current regulations. The draft revised and supplemented program has been consulted with teachers, ministries, branches and experts. To date, the revised and supplemented program has been issued, focusing on the following contents:

Officially revised curriculum of 3 subjects at high school level -0 — The amendment of the education program of some subjects is to comply with the Constitution and Resolution of the National Assembly.

For History and Geography subjects at primary and secondary levels, Geography subject for grade 12: Amend and supplement contents related to socio-economic regions such as production territory organization of some economic sectors, socio-economic regional boundaries; names and number of provinces and cities in the region, area size, population of the region; economic development resources, development situation, distribution of economic sectors in the regions and some other contents to ensure logic in implementation.

For the Civic Education program, revise and supplement the 10th grade program on the topics "Political system of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" and "Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".

For History, revise and supplement the Selective Study Topic in Grade 10 (topic "Vietnamese State and Law in History").

The issuance of the Circular amending and supplementing a number of contents in the general education program ensures that the program is consistent with changes, and that the subjects are scientific and practical.

Regarding the implementation of the general education program and textbooks for the 2025-2026 school year, educational institutions will continue to use the selected textbooks; at the same time, organize reviews and direct professional groups and teachers to adjust the materials in lessons and topics to suit the rearrangement of provincial-level administrative units, the organization of two-level local governments, and the content of amendments and supplements to the Constitution.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Education and Training will organize training for managers and teachers to implement; in which, teachers will be guided to proactively adjust the content of lectures, ensuring accuracy, updating and suitability to reality, especially for materials, data, maps, economic-social boundaries and administrative units. Schools will organize teaching according to the revised curriculum, fully implementing the additional content in the subjects of History and Geography at primary and secondary levels; Geography grade 12; History and Civic Education grade 10.
