Proactively respond to super typhoon Ragasa early

The Government has just issued Official Dispatch No. 170 directing ministries, branches and localities to proactively respond to super typhoon Ragasa.

  The dispatch stated: The storm with the international name Ragasa is active in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, around tonight (September 22), Ragasa will move into the East Sea at a speed of about 20 km/h and maintain a maximum intensity of level 16-17, gusting above level 17 during September 22-23 (wind force equivalent to and stronger than the maximum intensity of typhoon Yagi in 2024), with rough seas, especially dangerous for ships operating in the northern and central areas of the East Sea.

It is forecasted that on September 25, the storm may directly hit the mainland of our country in the area from Quang Ninh to Ha Tinh . This is a very strong storm (currently reaching super storm level). To proactively respond to the super storm early and from afar, the Prime Minister requests: Ministries, branches and localities to organize monitoring, updating and grasping the storm's developments; focus on directing, reviewing and updating plans, being ready to immediately deploy measures to respond to the super storm at the highest level, anticipating the worst scenario to ensure the safety of people's lives and limit property damage.

Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities postpone unnecessary meetings and mobilize the entire political system to respond to the super typhoon. They focus on tasks such as: checking and counting all boats and vehicles operating at sea and along the coast; calling and guiding boats and vehicles to safe shelters; ensuring safety for boats at anchorages; deciding, based on the situation, to restrict boats and vehicles from going out to sea or banning them from going to sea when necessary...

At the same time, specific tasks were assigned to the ministries of Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, National Defense, Public Security, Science and Technology, Education and Training, Health, Culture, Sports and Tourism, central news agencies and press with the goal of ensuring safety of life and property, minimizing damage to people.
